James Fallows & Sons began producing tinplate toys in 1874 in Philadelphia, USA and was organised under the name of C B Porter Company.

The name was changed to Frederick & Henry Fallows Toys in 1894

James Fallows & Sons specialised in painted and stenciled tinplate toys including river boats, horses, wheeled vehicles and trains. Many highly sought after toys carry the mark IXL.

James Fallows & Sons ceased production around 1900.
